Alex Katz, one of the great living artist representing contemporary art scene in United States, captures the moments with family and nature in flattened forms and simplification of detail, showing modern realism that crosses the boundaries of abstract and figuration, tradition and avant-garde. Ada, the artist’s wife of more than 60 years, is his muse and frequent subject of his work, appearing in about 250 paintings by Katz since they wed in 1958. Ada's portrait, one of the best works that reveals the artist's original style, is loved by people for a long time, leaving an elegant impression that will never be forgotten.
